Coryoon: Child Of Dragon Review

Coryoon: Child Of Dragon

Here’s a short little game that’s going to get a short little review.

The princess has been kidnapped by an evil wizard and we, Coryoon the child of dragon, must save her.

It’s a side scrolling shooter for the TG-16 and that’s a system that really had an amazing selection of those to pick from.

You could almost called it a Cute Em Up, which is a term I didn’t know existed till I played Harmful Park a few years before I found this game.

Out little dragon pal flies through the stages breathing things at other things till those other things stop being jerks.

The occasional power up carrying stork will fly through, give it a little blast of something and pick up what it’s carrying, get more power. Go to the end of the stage, fight and beat a boss, do it again till the Princess is saved.

The controls are good, you move well and combat is challenging enough without being too easy or too hard. It gets a little crazy at times but it’s not like Ikaruga or anything like that.

The graphics are big and colorful and bold which works well with the cutesy look and feel the game is going for. Presentation is quite good.

The music is equally cutesy. It’s energetic and fits the stages pretty well. I don’t particularly love the soundtrack myself but there’s a couple of decent enough tracks to be found and enjoyed.

It’s just a good fun little game. I went through Dead Moon, also a shooter for the TG-16. It’s much more mature than this but this is way more fun.
